Cameras
As an introduction to writing poetry, students are charged with photographing subjects using what I call a
"make sense camera" ;
a camera which captures all 5 senses.
By identifying two-four senses at one moment, students simultaneously develop a sense of perspective in their photography as well as an ability to capture sensory details through poetry.

Students' photographs and words are then used to create haiku and "perspective journals" which explore points of view in photography.
